About us  Biocel Paskov a.s. is a joint-stock company situated in Paskov, in the North Moravia region of the Czech Republic. The production of pulp in this region dates back to the end of the 19th century.  Biocel Paskov a.s. is a member of the Heinzel Group from the beginning of 2001.  The trademark product of the company is bleached magnesium-bisulfite pulp that is sold under the brand name VIAN-PASKOV. With its 280 000 tons capacity Biocel Paskov a.s. is the leading European producer of sulfite pulp.  Most of production is given over to the bleached pulp VIAN-PASKOV grade ECO, which fulfills the characteristics of TCF pulp. It is used for producing hygiene paper, packaging used for direct contact with food products and for producing graphics paper. More than ninety percent of the production is exported abroad, particularly to countries of the European Union.   Using sulfite technology in the production process allows the fermentable sugar in waste liquor to be used for producing the fodder yeast VITEX. It contains a considerable amount of protein and vitamins. It is used to produce feed for life stock, products for pets i.e. pet food, and food additives. Ribonucleic extracts are also produced from some of it. With an annual production of 24 000 tons, Biocel Paskov a.s. is the largest European producer of this type of yeast.   The company's third product, for which a part of the overproduction liquor is valued, is the lignin sulphonate plasticity agent sold under the brand name VIANPLAST. This agent is used for plaster and concrete mixtures and for adapting copper ores.  The priority task for Biocel Paskov a.s. is to maximize the use of its production capacity. The original capacity of 200 000 tons has been far exceeded thanks to the investments carried out. The current goal is set at 286 000 tons.  The volume of pulp production puts high demands on securing the amount of raw materials needed for it - wood mass. Spruce wood is purchased primarily from domestic sources. In recent years the share of wood chips in the total volume of wood materials purchased has been significantly promoted, and at present it constitutes 50% of total wood purchase.  Biocel Paskov a.s. has international certification for the quality control of all its products in accordance with the standards of ISO 9002. The company has also been certified for conforming to environmental management implemented according to the standards of ISO 14001. Biocel Paskov a.s. was among the first companies to have received the "Safe Company" certificate from the Czech Institute for Occupational Safety. In October 2006 the company was certified for safety at work according to the standard OHSAS 18001:1999. In 2003 Biocel Paskov a.s. received certificates Chain of Custody and Good manufacturing practise.
